What is stored, and where

When you play, two things are written to your browser’s local storage — a small area on your own device that only this site can read:

• Your progress: coins, streak, which levels you have finished and which questions you have already seen.
• Your topic choice: which of the five topics you last picked.

That is everything. It never leaves your device, we cannot see it, and clearing your browser data deletes it permanently. There is no account to make and nothing to sign in to.

On the phone

The iOS and Android apps keep your progress on the device in the same way, and still ask for no account of ours. Two things are different, and both are worth saying plainly:

• Game Center and Play Games. The app offers to connect when it opens. That is Apple’s or Google’s own sign-in, not ours, and you can say no — the whole game works signed out, exactly as it does if you never tap it. If you do connect, Apple or Google tell the app your player name, and receive the scores it sends: your longest streak, how many questions you have answered, and how many stars you have collected. That is the entire list. Those services have their own privacy policies, and none of it reaches us.
• The narration. Tapping the speaker fetches a sound file from our server, which leaves the ordinary request log described below. Nothing is fetched until you tap it.
• One rewarded video. If you run out of coins, the app offers a short video you can choose to watch for more. It is never shown on its own — not on opening the app, not between levels, not during a question — and a player who never taps it never sees one. The game can be finished without watching any. Ads come from Google AdMob and are NON-PERSONALISED: the app declares itself child-directed, so no interest-based profile is built or used, and it never asks to track you. Google receives the request and the usual technical data needed to serve and count a video; we receive a count, and nothing that identifies anyone.

What is not here

• No cookies.
• No analytics, and no third-party scripts of any kind.
• No advertising on this website, and no ad networks. The phone app has one — see “On the phone” above.
• No email address, name, age or location is ever asked for.
• No payments, so no payment details.

Children

The game is made for children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to request, correct or delete on a child’s behalf — beyond clearing the browser or deleting the app, which you can do yourself at any time.

The one thing worth a parent’s attention is the Game Center or Play Games prompt described above. It appears once, it can be declined, and declining it removes nothing from the game. If you would rather a child were not signed in to either service, say no to it — or turn it off for the child’s account in the device’s own settings, where it applies to every game.

Leaving the site

The links to our YouTube, TikTok and Instagram pages take you to those companies’ own sites, which have their own privacy policies and do collect data. We have no control over that and no visibility into it.

Hosting

The site is served as static files. Like any web server, the host records ordinary request logs — an IP address, a timestamp, which file was asked for — for the purpose of serving the site and keeping it up. We do not analyse those logs or connect them to anything.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, it will be announced on the channel rather than quietly edited in.
